This close link means we can offer the widest variety of river activities, the best value for money and Africa's most qualified, experienced and safest river team.
On the whole, KTN specializes in smaller groups, and so is able to dedicate more time to you, the client.
Efficiency in our operation translates to more time on the water, where it matters.
We take pride in safety as well as customer satisfaction, and indeed, we have an unblemished safety record.
We are confident that thanks to the wide variety of kayak courses for all levels, the comprehensive lessons and the Kayak Cruises, we can provide you with the best possible adventure trip in Uganda.
Our Staff
Friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, our guides possess skills gained from years of experience, working extensively around the world.
They have an expert knowledge of the Nile River, Lake Victoria and the Ugandan outdoors.
All our coaches are qualified at least to B.C.U. Level 4 coach or equivalent.
But in addition to developing your skills, they will also help you to learn about this unique environment and are happy to assist you to get that special photo, appreciate the wildlife or identify some of our astonishing river birds.
Our specialist kids coaches speak fluent teenager and have extensive experience in providing adventure activities for children and younger people.

Jamie Simpson
Jamie is the founder of Kayak the Nile: a graduate in adventure tourism management he oversees all of our operations as well as being the chief instructor for the kayak school.
Jamie has over 15 years worldwide coaching experience.
Originally from Scotland he has lived and worked on the Nile for the past ten years.
Jamie is part of the Fluid pro team.
Anna Bruno
Anna is now in her third season with Kayak the Nile.
She is currently one of our senior instructors.
An ACA qualified coach, Anna has a passion for teaching on the Nile River, but even when on leave she can be found in the US, Canada or Nepal discovering new rivers and passing on her exceptional coaching to others.
She heads up our kids courses.
Ibrahim Magumba
Ibrahim has been working with Kayak the Nile since day 1.
He is a qualified raft guide, swift water rescue technician and highly experienced kayaking coach.
Ibra heads up many of our advanced freestyle courses as well as being one of the 'bomb-proof' tandem guides. He has worked and paddled in Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, France and Switzerland, and is also a member of the Ugandan Freestyle kayaking team.
He was placed 31st out of 250 kayakers at the World championships 2009.
David Egesa
David is another of our local coaches- a home-grown expert who has been through the BCU coaching scheme.
David grew up in the Bujagali area and knows the region and the river like the back of his hand. He is one of our clients' favorite coaches.
We think David is the fastest teacher in the world of Eskimo rolling: most clients roll competently within 30mins, under his expert tuition.
Emmanuel Lukwago
Emmanuel runs our office at Bujagali falls, taking bookings and doing the most important thing, Accounts!
Emmanuel has however taken up kayaking and when he can escape from the office he can be found practising his roll in the eddy below the campsite.
Jared Taylor
Jared is a Canadian qualified kayak instructor, raft guide and swift water rescue technician.
His enthusiasm for teaching kayaking is obvious to anyone who takes a course with him. He is an immensely skilled kayaker, and a fantastic kids coach, and we hope he will be around for many seasons to come. Jared runs Kayak Cruises when not coaching on the river. In the low season he heads back to his native Canada to kayak rivers in British Columbia before heading to his home town on the Ottawa River.
Steve Fisher
Steve may be one of the world's best kayakers.
Not a lot of people know, but he is actually a better coach than he is a kayaker! His passion for kayaking shines through in his teaching and his enthusiasm never seems to end!
Steve now likes to call the Nile home. He has built a house on his own island not far from the famous 'Nile Special Wave.'
He spends half the year touring and then returns to the Nile for 6 months to run our big-air coaching clinics.
One course with this guy and you will be throwing down Ariel moves like never before!
Steve paddles for Riot, Red Bull, Stolquist, Seven2, and Snap Dragon.
