Explorers River Camp

The campsite overlooks Bujagali falls and has to have one of the best sunset decks in Uganda!

The lively bar, good food and comfortable clean accommodation provides the perfect surroundings for relaxing after a long day kayaking on the water. There are a number of awesome play spots and challenging river-running sections within five minutes paddle of the camp.

Kayak the Nile is based on site, so this is easiest place to stay for all of our courses and packages. Explorers River Camp does have a serious party atmosphere.

The Nile Porch

This luxury safari style camp is situated behind NRE campsite and overlooks the Bujagali Falls.

This de-luxe camp has an impressive à la Carte restaurant, along with a swimming pool, which itself has a breathtaking view, and comprises 8 individual en-suite Safari Tents.

If you want to relax after a hard days paddle this is the place to do it. In addition there are now three new self contained cottages, each with 3 singles and a double.

The Hairy Lemon
(Under New Management)

The Hairy Lemon is a beautiful mid-river island campsite .

Perfect for kayakers, it offers full board accommodation either camping, dormitories or in private safari tents.

The island is no more than a five minute paddle from the World famous 'Nile Special' wave.

It is a great base for kayaking the lower sections of the river. This island retreat really does offer some of the finest playboating on the planet, just a short paddle from your hammock.

Kayak the Nile can run Kayak school lessons on the Hairy Lemon.

If you are arriving late at night or leaving early in the morning we suggest that you spend a night in Kampala.

We have a number of places we can recommend, both in Kampala and Entebbe. Contact us with your travel itinerary and we can make arrangements.
