This five day course, is aimed at coaches and guides from all over the World. The course is designed to train coaches in the very different skill of big volume guiding.
The skills are completely unique, and the course is designed so that guides will feel comfortable, leading groups, planning expeditions and dealing with tropical medical situations on big Volume Rivers and developing countries around the World.

re-requisites
All applicants must be competent coaches and currently lead groups on a regular basis. The course is ideal for leaders of university groups or canoe clubs, that wish to venture out and lead expeditions abroad in the future. What’s Included?
Accommodation
Dormitory style accommodation is provided for the duration of your course. Based at the Hairy Lemon. This is one of the most spectacular settings in Africa. The bar and restaurant always have a friendly party atmosphere. You can upgrade your accommodation to private bandas or high class safari tents at a surcharge.
Food
Breakfast, Lunch and dinner will be provided for the course duration in either buffet style or from the bar menu.
Guiding and coaching
We at Kayak the Nile strive to achieve the highest standards. For this reason we only employ the highest calibre of kayaking coaches. All our instructors paddle professionally and are qualified to the equivalent of a B.C.U. level 4 coach. All our staff have at least 3 years experience on this river and 10 years coaching experience world wide.
Equipment
We have a fleet of playboats of various sizes and shapes. All equipment is provided for the course but if you wish to bring your own that is no problem.
Transport
All transport to and from the river/ river shuttles and airport transfers are included.
What to bring
The climate here in Uganda is perfect we have a mean average of around 25 degC, so during the day shorts and t-shirt. In the evenings due to the presence of mosquitoes it is best to cover up.
Mosquito repellent is available out here as well as most camera films.
Medical
Please ensure that you come with valid travel and medical insurance. We can arrange evacuation insurance if required.
