The course will give you an introduction to big volume river running as well as top quality coaching on playboating and group safety and management.
Pre requisites

Day1. Pick up at Entebbe airport or from Kampala by a Kayak The Nile representative and transferred to your accommodation at Nile River Explorers, Bujagali Falls.
Day2. Today we head out for a warm up session on one of the many small and friendly play waves close to the campsite. This will give you an opportunity to get a feel for the Nile. In the evening we will be entertained by a slide show, showing you the many opportunities available on the river for kayaking.
Day 3. After breakfast we head downstream to Kalagala falls, where we take on this spectacular 10km stretch of World Class Play waves. Taking our time we will have a chance to run many different lines and really hone this big volume water river running techniques in preparation for tomorrow. In the evening we have a short lecture on safety and group management in big volume river running situations.
Day4. Today we take on the full one-day stretch. This section offers classic lines for all abilities on big volume, warm deep water. It’s a kayakers paradise. You will have the chance to run many different lines as well as play on some of the spectacular spots available.
Day5. Today we head down to ‘Malalu’ a classic play wave which is the ideal learning platform to push those big air tricks. Coaches will be on hand to assist you whatever your level in really developing your play boating skills.
Day6. Today we run a huge stretch of water 40km in total. This will run the Full one-day stretch and two day stretches, offering you the perfect opportunity to put those new found skills to the test.
Day 7. You will be transferred by a Kayak the Nile representative to Entebbe or for onward travel.
What’s Included
Accommodation
Dormitory style accommodation is provided for the duration of your course. Based at Nile River Explorers Bujagali Falls. This is one of the most spectacular settings in Africa. The bar and restaurant always have a friendly party atmosphere. You can upgrade your accommodation to private bandas or high class safari tents at a surcharge.
Meals
Lunch is included for the duration of your stay. Other meals can be
selected from our huge variety of bars and restaurants.
This gives you the freedom to choose what you want. the average meal
is around $5 (£2.50).
Guiding and coaching
We at Kayak the Nile strive to achieve the highest standards. For this reason we only employ the highest calibre of kayaking coaches. All our instructors paddle professionally and are qualified to the equivalent of a B.C.U. level 4 coach. All our staff have at least 3 years experience on this river and 10 years coaching experience world wide.
Equipment
We have a fleet of playboats of various sizes and shapes. All equipment is provided for the course but if you wish to bring your own that is no problem.
Transport
All transport to and from the river/ river shuttles and airport transfers are included.
What to bring
The climate here in Uganda is perfect we have a mean average of around 25 degC, so during the day shorts and t-shirt. In the evenings due to the presence of mosquitoes it is best to cover up.
Mosquito repellent is available out here as well as most camera films.
Medical
Please ensure that you come with valid travel and medical insurance. We can arrange evacuation insurance if required.
